My original inspiration for this story was reading about the scions of industry and celebrity who had rejected their legacy. I was fascinated by the ones whom had done so due to moral reasons. The more I read about it, the more I wanted to explore the idea in a story.

This was around the time I was beginning to write the first few Domestic Doll Services stories. What if someone was so guilt ridden for the crimes their family was brought upon the world, the only way they felt they could purge these sins from themselves was through a total transformation. What if someone came to DDS and demanded to be converted into a Domestic Doll? Away I went!

I would like to continue exploring the idea of consensual brainwashing in future stories. In a world where Domestic Dolls exist, surely that is a fetish that exists.

One of my favorite scenes in this story in the laundry scene. Well, someone does have to do the laundry. The idea to test her programming came from a science fiction where a brainwashed woman was commanded to kill someone she knew (a hologram) and she did it without question.

Another favorite is the hair scene. Why did Kaylie cut her hair? Does she even know? Did she like having short hair before? Who knows. I love using that kind of thing as a means of something just how brainwashed someone is…

This story came out really fast. Every day I sat down and belted out my normal 500 words and it was very breezy to do. Kaylie will make a cameo in another DDS story coming in a few weeks.

First and foremost, this story was a commission and I am extremely grateful to the commissioner for their ideas and feedback along the way.

I think there is so much potential for virtual reality and mind control. I am glad I was able to explore that a bit here. Women being converted into much more autonomous machines that have personalities programmed into them is a big kink of mine too. Using that to brainwash women into the ideal playthings of DDF worked out really well I think.

Westworld is an obvious influence, but I also thought a lot about Boomers from Bubblegum Crisis too.

This was the first Domestic Doll Services story that I wrote when I conceived the premise of DDS back in the summer of 2015. I think my number one fetish is “diabolical mind control conspiracy” and I have always loved stories in the archive that focused on that, but also “hive” stories too.

Around that time there were a few television series that did episodes, or their entire premise was about, robot, life-like, servants for domestic or sexual relations. The introduction to this story was heavily influenced by the initial premise of one of them.

My husband and I also did a rewatch of Star Trek TOS that summer. At dinnertime we would watch one episode per night, which took us through the entire summer. A few episodes were very influential in my initial ideas for DDS including “Dagger of the Mind;” “I, Mudd;” and “What Are Little Girls Made Of.” I took a lot of notes from them and then began taking plot ideas I had kept in various notebooks and put them together into outlines.

This story came out of a few of those. The first being a sex worker is reprogrammed into a mindless slave. The second being a man is fed up with his career focused wife and uppity daughter until they are brought under control. I merged those two ideas together and you get this story!

This story is much more science fiction based than other DDS stories. The arm pinchers Domestic Dolls have to program women was something I dropped more or less after this story. There is an obvious influence there, but my inspiration actually came from a cartoon that scared the hell out of me as a kid called The Inhumanoids. The way they use their claws to “turn” humans really disturbed me as a kid.

Feminine Obedience Academy: Yoshiko was greatly inspired by this fantasy of mine where university learning for women is replaced with, well, feminine obedience training. There have been a number of great stories on mcstories over the years that have used that trope plus the never published one that Vendatrix teases us with at the end of Pleasure Crews of the Ultimate Lovedolls. The STUDENT, SERVANT, DOLL semesters were inspired by correspondence I had with a reader about what different semester would look like for a student at the Feminine Obedience Academy. I left it loose at first and then the needs of the story’s plot filled in a lot of the rest.

I brought in some of the male controllers from my Domestic Doll Services stories as well. I think I am settling on a bunch of those for purposes of continuity and consistency. There are also a handful of allusions to my District Nine Slave Adoption Agency story, which takes place in the same universe. I bet Brett, Melissa, and their daughters will make some cameos at some point.

Yoshiko has been one of my favorite protagonists over the years. She is so cheerful and passionate, yet also eager to submit and longing for control. I enjoyed writing her journey throughout the early months of 2021. Readers will meet her sister Utami in an upcoming story called Emerald’s Service that is coming soon.

The next Feminine Obedience Academy story will, as the epilogue notes, star a young woman named April and her best friend Melinda. I hear one of FOA’s professors has their eye on her…

Inspirations: thrall’s Mirrored In Your Eyes planted the seed in my mind for having different roles for each semester. Vendatrix’s Ultimate Lovedoll stories are, of course, a huge influence. trilby else’s Legacy is another academy story I reread before writing this one.

A few major inspirations for DDS: PR. First and foremost I love it when smug, self-important, women get taken down a notch or five. I also adore the idea of “giving a tour” of the diabolical mind control conspiracy to the mentally numbed, gullible, woman. That concept is explored in other stories of mine.

Click bait and “gotcha” journalism are scourges of modern society. I seem to keep going back to punishing journalists who try to destroy others for clicks and likes. I use the vague “social media profile” to not tie my stories to any specific platform or app. I read a lot of romance novels and it makes me cringe to see a character talk about an app no one uses anymore. “Social media profile” can be whatever the plot needs it to be at any time.

Jacki was based on a number of women I met in the workforce. The ones who act as corrupt as the men do and think it is rebellion or an act of feminism.

Simon is, of course, named in honor of our wonderful archivist at mcstories.

As I noted in the story introduction, many of the tropes of Domestic Doll Services stories are established in this story. This is where the series really takes off after the much more horror/scifi based initial story.

EMC inspirations include Simon bar Sinister’s Absolute Obedience and Vendatrix’s Return of the Ultimate Lovedolls.

This story was originally written in the summer of 2015 when I was getting into the now daily writing routine that has so greatly improved my writing. So much of this came from the grace and care I receive from my husband.

After beginning therapy, Miss Magyar learns a cure has been developed.
