Over the years, I have “deleted” a number of scenes from stories. The Romance & Submission of Kira Wetzel is the first story that I have consciously kept a good record of these scenes. Previously to this story, I have held onto to them in various draft versions, but never formally held onto them. I would like to do that more in the future.
What follows is three scenes from the story that were cut out. The first was cut because I just did not feel that good about the Julian character. Originally, I had this idea that Kira would somehow get her Master “mixed up” with someone else. Basically, she would somehow get the wrong subliminals, or something like that, and then begin obeying Julian instead of Benjamin. I wrote a scene to introduce Julian, but then lost interest in going in that direction. This would have also placed the story more clearly in the Pleasure Bunnies universe.
“Kira,” Beverly began is a sophisticated voice, “this is—”
Kira smiled as she interrupted, “Julian,” she began, hugging him gently. Beverly looked at her peculiarly. Kira elaborated for her new friend: “Julian and I went to high school together!” The handsome boy must be playing football here at Ohmsford. That made sense; the dark haired, tall, boy had been an excellent receiver during their high school days, or so she had heard in the halls.
Beverly wandered away and Julian took Kira into a quiet room so they could speak. In an unoccupied bathroom, they sat down, Julian on the floor and Kira on the toilet seat. Awkwardly, both looked down at the floor before breaking out laughing.
“So,” Julian began, running a hand over his neck, “they picked you did they?”
“Deanna approached me at a graduation party. Everything changed so quickly, but I am happy.” She looked down at the floor, suddenly nervous about talking to someone from her past life about her current situation. “Who did you pick?” Kira found it easier to deflect the conversation away from herself. That was something which certainly had not changed from her past life.
“Well,” Julian began, kind of laughing a little. Kira smiled. He was cute; she’d never noticed that before. “I actually haven’t picked one yet. I am going to wait until the right girl comes along. I’m in no hurry.”
Kira bit her lip gently. “Mine is a senior. He has waited four years for the right girl.” She paused for a moment. “Apparently, that is me.” Again, she paused, but looked up at Julian from the hole she was burrowing in the floor with her eyes. “I should feel good about that, right? I mean, I am *programmed* to do so, but I still have this weird hesitation.”
“Who picked you?” Julian was now extremely curious at who had picked this fascinatingly thoughtful girl to be his property, and yet kept her the way she’d always been. He’d always thought Kira was a bright girl.
“Benjamin, he is the kicker on the team.” Kira suddenly realized this was the first time she had said his name aloud like that.
“Oh yeah, Benjamin,” Julian began, “I met him this morning for the first time. He’s really quiet.” He grazed a few fingers against Kira’s left hand. “You’re perfect for each other. And, hey, he is going to play professional football. I heard that a lot of pro teams are scouting him.”
“Yes, he is currently looking at being a second or third round draft pick, but could slip up into the bottom of the first round.” Kira smiled. “He’s really good…” She blinked a few times and laughed at herself. “I can’t believe I know stuff about football.”
Julian laughed too, but then got quiet. “Strange summer, right?”
Suddenly, Julian sat up. “Well, we should get back out there. I don’t want anyone to think any unseemly of you.”
“I’m sure there are plenty of unclaimed girls waiting for you too.” Kira raised her eyebrows at him.
The two friends hugged again. “We’ll talk soon,” Julian quietly stated.
“Yes, Sir.” Kira automatically replied. This time, both of them raised their eyebrows. With that, Julian left to get laid and Kira to find the love of her life.
I wrote True Love over a number of years. It was my first story, and it shows, and I went through a number of revisions and rewrites before finally finishing it off for good. There were two other big reasons for the delays: My attempt at retrofitting the story into the Pleasure Bunnie universe, and my growing dislike of the protagonist Lauren Collins.
When I started publishing new chapters, there was another delay of a few months. At one point during that delay, I wrote up a recap chapter where a few characters would summarize what had happened previously to refresh older readers and encourage new ones to take it on. After finishing this chapter, I decided it was a little too weird/random to actually be published. I do a really good job of holding onto deleted work, so I went in and cleaned it up and here you go…
True Love: Forth Wall Recap
“So,” Celia began, “why is everyone frozen?”
Arianna frowned. “Because we are breaking the forth wall to catch everyone up on the story.”
“Oh. Are we supposed to even know that?”
Arianna rolled her eyes. “Whatever. Who gives a shit. The point is to recap what has happened so far.”
Celia took on a very serious face for a moment. “Well, it all began with Lauren Collins,” she pointed at the unconscious goth girl on the bed, “she knew Kimberly and was brought into our hold to become a Mistress. She enslaved Kristen,” she tapped the head of the girl she had a crush on, “and seemed to be doing okay.”
She continued, “But I was assigned to watch both her and Kristen at school and I noticed that Lauren was a bit abusive…more like dismissive…of Kristen at times. That is her choice, but then the moment,” she pointed at the blond on the bed next to Lauren, “Jenny was available, Lauren jumped on it and dumped Kristen to the side.” Celia turned back to her sister. “That is the kind of bullshit we always mock from Dudes when they dive through three Bunnies in three years. Totally corny.”
Arianna now took over. “At that point, William and Kimberly, who run the Pleasure Bunnie Corporation got a bit displeased with the girl. They’d been grooming her to be one of us. Kimberly went and warned her, but Lauren did not abide by her warnings.” She went over and poked the unconscious and frozen girl on the bed. “So now she will be a Pleasure Bunnie. Some people just never get with the program.”
Celia rolled her eyes. “I thought she was a bitch from day one. I don’t excuse what Jenny did either, but the choice between ‘better than you’ gothalternacunt and bimbo cheerleader…gross.”
A moment passed and they were suddenly on the first floor. Celia looked around. “Hey, how did we get down here.”
Arianna shrugged. “I think when we do this kind of things, we make the rules up as we go.”
Celia went over and put two fingers on Mrs. Collins’ right breast, nipple erect in the tight dress she wore. “Dude, Lauren’s mom is such a milf.”
Arianna rolled her eyes. “Yeah, there is already a waiting line for her.” She paused. “I don’t get your obsession with that ‘fifties’ aesthetic. I mean, my generation grew up on syndicated shows from that era, but yours has internet porn.”
Celia grinned. “Exactly! Retro fetish websites.” Arianna sighed next to her as they were suddenly upstairs again. The younger sister continued talking as she walked over to where Lauren and Jenny lay on the bed. “Gagged and asleep…now that sounds like a modern porn website!”
Arianna tilted her head and put a finger on the large bruise under Lauren’s eye. “Kristen is really violent. I think she broke Lauren’s nose too.”
Celia picked up a ripped pillow. “Uh, I think she might have tried to suffocate her. It looks like Lauren bit the pillow.” She looked at her sister. “Violent and a murderous streak with a definite need to please. I *am* in love.”
“Yeah,” Arianna sighed, “and then there is your crush on Kristen.”
Celia examined the frozen girl, caught in the middle of unhugging Arianna when the world froze. “I want to win her.”
Arianna didn’t role her eyes this time; her sister’s sincerity was profound in the moment. “You have permission to try.” She scratched her neck. “So, I think it is time to get going again.”
“How does that happen?” Celia asked.
“I think,” Arianna argued aloud, “that since we are done it should just happen. I guess.”
Both sisters looked up and around, waiting for life to begin again.
Originally, this was going to take place in the same longer story that a few of the other stories in this anthology would have been in, but the larger story never came together.
Ariel’s Sale was going to be the introduction of a longer Pleasure Bunnies story, but, like the others in this anthology, it ended up standing on its own. There is not a lot to say otherwise.
The Pleasure Bunnies’ Drawer would have been the ending of the story that also contained Ariel’s Sale, but obviously that did not end up happening. I really like the character of Olga and might do something else with her in the future.
The Genesis of the Pleasure Bunnies is something I have wanted to write for a long time. I wanted this to intertwine with a larger story, but that never happened, so I took my notes and wrote it up here as a conversation between Jennifer and Arianna. This story probably is only interesting to fans of the story universe, but that is fine.
Something else I have been up to recently is publishing a number of short stories based in the Pleasure Bunnies universe. I do not know if I will ever write another full blown story in that universe, but I have collected a lot of odds and ends and half-written pieces over the years I thought are worth putting into an anthology. The first is The Ballad of Becky D’arcy, who originally appeared as Jessica Kanko’s BFF and fellow brainwashee in The Pleasure Bunnies. A few readers have suggested I write more about her, and I decided to examine her as a “bad luck” Bunnie who is never quite right for anyone. Her sadness and desire to belong really drove this story.
Tell me, what did you think of The Ballad of Becky D’arcy?
I don’t remember a lot about the proposed “True Love: The College Years” story I was going to write about 10 years ago, but I know I scrapped the project after a few months. One semester (likely fall of 2000 or maybe spring 2001) I carried around a small notebook where I scribbled ideas for the story, which would take place after True Love. I don’t remember a lot about it, the outline is long-lost, but I do remember some details.
- Lauren, Kristen, and Jenni would have stayed together. Somehow.
- I had an idea for a chapter similar to Deprogramming.
- A few ideas from this story ended up being used for Emily Foster’s story line in The Pleasure Bunnies: I Guess I Owe You Dinner.
This was long before I retrofit the story into the Pleasure Bunnie universe, so a lot of the ideas would not have worked anyway. Oh well.
